meantime today at the white house the situation in ukraine will come to a head as the president meets with angela merkel to specifically discuss this conflict in ukraine. it is thought that the president will apply serious pressure to merkel to impose german sanctions on russia and closer to vladimir putin than obama and her role is something the white house will be likely asking for. >> interesting to see what they say, thanks, peggy. we also continue to follow breaking news. officials say a preliminary investigation suggests distance control systems may have caused a subway crash in south korea's capital. the train slammed into a second train parked at the station as many as 200 people now have been hurt. most of those injuries, if not all of them are minor. investigators trying to figure out what caused that control system to malfunction. the accident, of course, comes just two weeks after that ferry sunk off the coast of south korea killing 300 people. since then, the government has

5:11 am
of gas here in san jose is $4.23, oakland $4.22 and san francisco $4.32. if you look at where those prices were a month ago, you can see, quite a spike over the past 30 days. as much as 25 to 30 cents per gallon. now, analysts with the gas buddy website believes that we possibly seen prices peak for a few reasons. one, the price for a barrel of oil has dropped under 100 bucks. the price of whole sale gasoline has also dropped. many of the refineries have done their maintenance and started presenting their summer blends and doesn't appear to be any major issues which could cause a shut down and decrease supplies. this analysts think prices can drop 30 to 40 cents barring any surprises and those surprises were to be if we were to have a heat wave when the temperature gets hotter and a spike in gasoline use and, of course, when you have a greater demand, prices go up and if there were a problem with one of those refineries which would cause a
